Libanon and Israel

The situation between Libanon and Israel keeps escalading, lates with Israel bombing United Nations (UN) posts for several hours, and at least 4 getting killed in a direct hit from an Israeli tank yesterday.

Israel has been in conflict with Palestina for way too long without having seen any reactions due to it. Especially the lack of response from the USA is devastating. Now, the reason for Israel getting the support it does is most probably related to religious reasons, as well as the number of Israeli citizens living in the US, but hopefully the latest happenings will put Israel in a more critical light, they have had a cart blance too long and should be evaluated on the same terms as others, without religious believes interfering.

I myself have clients that grew up and lives in Libanon, the last time we spoke he said "man, I'm not sleeping, we have to guard our buildings". His brother was stationed at the Presidential Palace, and he lives in fear that his brother might be in it at the time of a bombing.

Interestingly enough he welcomes support from troops against the Hizballah, whether Israeli or from somewhere else.

Good luck to all living in or around Libanon.

I expected better from Telenor

About 70,000 phone-subscribers are without phones after Norway's grandest telecommunication provider encountered an error affecting VoIP (ip-telephony) clients during a system upgrade.

The system was supposed to be back up at 0200 CEST, a deadline that got pushed to 1200 CEST once not back up at the prior deadine. At the present moment they won't give any new timeframes.

Personally I only use my cellular phone, which is not directly affected by this error, although, of course it makes it difficult to call someone that is without a phone.

What stumps me is the lack of redundancy systems, the competitor Netcom has had major problems for cellphones resently due to network overuse, a result of adding clients trying to grow without having the network scalability required for the traffic. So you can be very sure I won't switch to them at any point soon. The problems have been on multiple layers, including twise the network accountability central, a server which keeps tracks of where the cellphones are registered in the network in order to properly route the phonecalls to it, efficiently disabling the phones from receiving any phone-calls.

Telenor is generally more stable, at least that is my own experience when it comes to cellphones. On broadband front, including the VoIP services however, they are doing a child's mistake over and over again.

Hopefully they get it back up soon.

bikini-wearing hudson causes helicopter crash?

I think this speaks for itself

A US marine crew are being questioned after allegedly crashing their helicopter while trying to catch a glimpse of Hollywood star KATE HUDSON. The stunning actress was wearing a swimsuit, diamond collar and high heels on the set of YOU, ME + DUPREE in California when the chopper buzzed low overhead before crashing just yards away. Hudson, married to BLACK CROWES rocker CHRIS ROBINSON, says, "We heard this huge crash. A sort of huge plywood thing came falling on to my car from a rooftop. "Then the cops were there and the Marines were there and I'm in this outfit. "I realised what I was wearing and I said, 'I'm sorry, can someone get me a robe?'"
