I took the liberty to spend an extended weekend with the family, so here I am. I drove up to my home town yesterday and will be returning sunday. Part of the reason was that I had to fix the network as well as migrate to the new server, all of which is fixed now and leave me to having a relaxing weekend.

Can you fix my computer?
You have no idea how many times I've been asked to fix people's computers. Thankfully I've gotten a great majority of my friends and family over to either Mac with OS X or using GNU/Linux. I've also created the website secure-my-internet.com that I direct people to for a guide for small cleanups.
User responsibility
This comic strip hit the spot. The problem with, amongst other things SPAM isn't the senders themselves, but the fact that people make it profitable for the sender.
As stated on secure-my-internet.com:
"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."
- Albert Einstein
SPAM, as well as email security is a social problem. Even if security software was distributed and configured by a third party for free, as long as the user isn't aware (or caring) about its usage, it will be easy to obtain through other means.
I have written several posts on this subject prior to this, and I'm glad to see that the folks at UserFrendly agree to http://www.kfwebs.net/news/312/User+responsibility and http://www.kfwebs.net/news/315/Followup+on+user+security a debate I had going with Brad
