Congratulations Portugal

I'm generally not the most sports interested person, but there are some exceptions. One is when Barcelona is showing off, the other is when any other combination of teams offer good football of high quality and speed.

Portugal just beat England in the quarter final, in a penalty shootout, after exactly display of such. The Portugese goalkeeper, Ricardo, which I'm possibly especially interested in myself as I was a goalkeeper myself for more than a decade displayed that he really does belong in the world championship, he did an exceptional job.

Congratulations, it will be fun to watch Portugal in the semi-final.

Looking at chronometers

An acquaintance of mine is in the watch-business, and in that regard we were visiting one of the importers for several nice watches in Norway.

Eterna watches like Kon-Tiki and Porsche was on the list of watches on display and of which I tried some. The one I liked the most was from Porsche design. It was 18K carat gold and had a store-price of about 17,000 USD.

The casing is made of 18-carat rosé gold. The PGC version of the Dashboard range is dynamic and modern with Arabic numerals.
It features a Kaliber Eta 2894-2 clockwork automatic mechanism with self-winding capability. Its rotor vanes are made of robust titanium combined with black-painted heavy metal. Through them, the key components of the clockwork mechanism can be viewed. The sapphire glass base reveals the unusual rotor system. The crown and base of the casing are screwed on. A tachometer scale features scratch-resistant sapphire glass, anti-glare treated on both sides. Optional with rubber strap.

Water resistance: up to 100 m depth

That was the cheap one. I also tried an expensive one, which was engrossed with diamonds all around. This was on display from Porsche Design, and the owner of the store wouldn't inform me of the price of it.

The casing is made of 18-carat rosé gold, the bezel is jewelled with 64 diamonds. The PGC version of the Dashboard range is classic and purely modern with a perfectly untrammeled design.

Fun night out

So a couple of acquaintances of mine and myself decided to go out yesterday, after having been on my balcony sipping beer the rest of the day. We ended up on Aker Brygge, and ended up emptying some pitchers of beer (about 1.6 liter of beer).

Due to the probability to white-wash money, the terminal doesn't allow you to tip the waitresses more than close to 100% of the price of the item purchased, no matter how cute the Swedish waitress is.

This actually took two attempts to find out, but I got "sum too large" twise, which screwed up my plan to leave my business card in the terminal after the swipe (keep the business card right next to the debet card an it is stuck when your card is out). Why? Because I had to swipe another time to be permitted to enter the 3rd grand total (which it accepted, although that only gave her a 13 USD tip for the last pitcher instead of 45 or so).

Well, I thought screw it and gave her my business card anyways, and I must admit the color of her face reminded me of a cooked lobster (fairly red)

She probably won't call, but at least we had a fun time out.
